SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Transfinder’s Servicefinder is a browser-based solution for school bus fleet maintenance. To facilitate an open architecture and ease of use, the solution is a Rich Internet Application with a familiar Web interface.

Servicefinder will be hosted by Transfinder as an ASP (application service provider) solution. School district and contractor transportation personnel can use the technology to perform a variety of tasks, including manage their school buses and white fleet vehicles; track part locations and inventory information; schedule recurring preventive maintenance tasks; evaluate fuel consumption trends and identify usage variances to balance their operations; and schedule work orders based on repair codes and technician schedules.

"Servicefinder represents next-generation software for school transportation officials who are already familiar with Web-based applications. It provides them easy access to a robust management tool that minimizes the complexities involved in managing their bus fleets," said Antonio Civitella, president and CEO of Transfinder.

Servicefinder includes several features to assist with fleet maintenance tasks. A tire management tool measures tread depth, schedules tire rotation and tracks the mileage on each vehicle. A fuel import interface provides vehicle fuel usage history and is customizable to measure fuel consumption and provide odometer readings.

Moreover, a bar code reader reduces keystrokes and ensures the accuracy of part numbers by reading standard manufacturer bar codes; it also prints bar codes for optimal inventory control. A flat rate repair metrics tool associates flat labor rates with defined repair codes to measure technician productivity on specific tasks.
