Here at SBF, now and then we receive photos and videos from you, our readers, which have stood out to us, and proven pretty popular with you, too. We enjoy getting, literally, a snapshot of your industry through these often compelling visuals.

A photo gallery showcasing first responders training at the fire department in Papillion, Neb., on propane school buses, with photos supplied by the Propane Education & Research Council, and Louisville, Ky.-based Jefferson County Public Schools’ first day of school video generated a lot of interest on our Facebook and Twitter pages, with a good amount of likes and retweets. Another video came to us from Buffalo (N.Y.) Public Schools, showing students from its performing arts school using their musical talents to get the message out to buckle up on the bus.

We also received quite a few entries to our photo contest, many of which were amazing, amusing and surprising.  I was impressed with how many talented shutterbugs there are in the industry. Keep an eye out for the winning entries in our August issue.

Of course, you don’t have to wait until next year’s photo contest to send us images of your day-to-day experiences on the job. Whether photos or videos, we want to encourage you to keep them coming year-round so we can learn from them and share them on our Photo Gallery and Videos web pages. Visual storytelling gives us an even greater window into your operations and experiences as pupil transportation professionals. Hopefully, in some cases, they also enable you to help each other with tips and ideas.

And from a personal standpoint, since I am still fairly new to the pupil transportation industry, it helps me to learn more about you and the industry as well.

So, shutterbugs and Scorseses, don’t hesitate to email or contact us through email, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram or LinkedIn with your best shots or your latest footage of trainings, safety competitions, musicals, and Oscar-nominated masterpieces. We want your unique perspective.
