The bus stop is a bus!

A reader from Georgia recently brought to our attention this school-bus themed bus shelter in Athens,Ga., and we had to find out more about it.

 

The bus shelter was designed by artist Chris Fennel for a national contest — You, Me and the Bus — sponsored by the Athens Area Arts Council and the Athens Transit System. Winning designs were selected for eight bus stops in the area.

 

According to the council, the project aims to enhance the public transportation system and improve quality of life inAthensby integrating utilitarian public services with artistic ingenuity and inspiration.

 

We just think it's nice to see a school bus living out its life in public service!
