Kirk, I know that both GMC and International Harvester both made engines for the RE's The gmc was a V 6 and was a gas burner. IH also made an engine V8 gas burner. It was loud as hell it originally was designed to go in a combine. The GMC chassis was more quiet and was faster. The mechanics cussed the IH but liked the GMC. I would like to get a picture of one of these guys.

looking for a certain early 60's Blue Bird all American RE. It wasn't a V-8. It sounded like a an older Cummin's Diesel V-6. could it have been a Large Gas V-6??? don't think so. I kmow the tranny was a 5 spd , or split 10 spd,\ not sure.

We are looking to buy and restore vintage school buses from the 40-50-60s to put in a museum. Please submit pictures when responding. Thanks.
