Officials say the integration of both companies will take place over the next 90 days, and C.E. White will continue to be headquartered in New Washington, Ohio, with the same people serving the company's customers. Officials also say that the acquisition will enhance opportunities for both companies, including expanding Hickory Springs’ footprint in the transportation seating market.

Dan Daniels to join C.E. White Co.

Daniels, who announced last week that he will leave his position as president of Trans Tech Bus to be closer to his family, will serve as vice president of engineering and product development for the school bus seating manufacturer. Officials say the companies will work together over the next 120 days to ensure a smooth transition for incoming Trans Tech President John Phraner and Trans Tech customers.

Company officials say that a unique manufacturing process produces a seat foam with a soft and energy-absorbent cushion and a dense, highly durable outer skin.

Among the new products from the nearly 130 exhibitors is a quasi-static three-point activity seat from Freedman Seating Co., a camera system from Fortress Mobile that captures stop-arm violators and a condenser from American Cooling Technology. Thomas Built Buses displays its redesigned Type D unit, the Saf-T-Liner EFX, while Blue Bird displays its Next Generation Propane-Powered Vision school bus.

Bill would change school bus seat requirement for N.Y. districts

The School Bus Mandate Relief Act would allow boards of education for school districts to reduce the number of seats provided for student transportation if there is a documented history for three years showing that eligible pupils are not using the buses provided by the districts. The legislation was passed by the state Senate last week.
