A 6-year-old boy in Louisiana passes away on Monday morning from head injuries he sustained when he was caught on the outside of his school bus and dragged along a road. On Monday afternoon, an 8-year-old boy in Georgia passes away when he is run over by a school bus at a district’s transportation facility.

Joann Jensen strikes a power pole while transporting students and is then transported to a hospital, where she is pronounced dead. Police believe Jensen may have suffered a medical condition while driving that caused her to lose control of the bus and hit the pole.

Fourteen-year-old Jorge Saavedra faces a charge of manslaughter for the incident on Monday. Deputies say he stabbed 16-year-old Dylan Nuno as the two exited their school bus; Nuno was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The trainee driver had passed the "S" endorsement written test and was undergoing the required hours of training. He had been scheduled to finalize his skills assessment for the endorsement last Wednesday, two days after the accident. The school district will now review the training for all of its bus drivers to ensure that they are fully certified.

School bus driver killed in crash with SUV

The bus driver was traveling westbound on a highway when the SUV, which was traveling eastbound, drifted into the westbound lane and collided head-on with the bus; both vehicles then caught fire. The driver and passenger in the SUV also died in the accident.
Technician killed in bus maintenance accident

Almaz Kucukovic was working on a bus when it started to roll. He was trying to climb on board the bus when he fell under the wheels, dying immediately from head and internal injuries.
