The manufacturer introduces a new version of its Saf-T-Liner C2 bus design that officials say is well suited for long distance commuting, tour operators, city buses, university transit, shuttle buses, church groups and sports teams. The bus does not have school bus guard rails, and it features panoramic, solid pane windows and optional coach-style recliner seating.

The school bus manufacturer increases the area of responsibility for Warner Bus Industries from the 251,366-square-mile province of Saskatchewan to also include the 250,946-square-mile province of Manitoba. Warner Bus will serve its Manitoba customers using fully equipped "Warranty on Wheels" trucks.

10-year-old Mauriene nominated Joyce St. John, who also drove the youngster’s mother and four siblings. Mauriene wrote in the Thomas Built Buses contest that St. John “taught us manners” and expected riders to help keep the bus clean.

President and CEO Kelley Platt says Whayne helped Kentucky obtain the first and biggest federal hybrid school bus grant in the U.S., and that the dealer provides excellent customer service. The school bus manufacturer is awarded a 2011 North Carolina Mobile Clean Air Renewable Energy award in the category of Technology/Fuel Provider. The company operates the nation's first zero-waste-to-landfill school bus manufacturing facility and produces both compressed natural gas and hybrid-electric school buses.

The company's SafeGuard XChange product line will soon be available to order on the manufacturer's buses. SafeGuard XChange allows school bus operations to buy standard seating now and then exchange seating modules to add or configure belts at a later date.
