SOUTH HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Matt Scheuler has been promoted to president of Collins Bus Corp., parent company Allied Specialty Vehicles Inc. (ASV) announced on Monday.
Since February of this year, Scheuler has been vice president of sales and marketing at Collins, which manufactures Type A school and activity buses. In his new role, he will report directly to Tim Sullivan, ASV president and CEO.
"I'm pleased to see Matt move into this leadership position," Sullivan said. "Matt has a proven record of guiding consistent sales growth and sustaining strong customer relationships, making him the ideal person to continue advancing Collins in the school bus market."
Scheuler said that he is "thrilled to have this opportunity.” He added that Collins is known for innovations, including "the first 16-20 passenger small school bus in 1967, earliest wheelchair lift in the mid-1970s and first propane fueled Type A school bus in 2010.
“When you combine this with our exceptional workforce and the largest distribution and service network of any school bus manufacturer in North America, Collins is poised to continue increasing its market share and setting the highest industry standards for manufacturing the most durable and reliable Type A school bus," Scheuler said.
Before being appointed vice president of sales and marketing earlier this year, Scheuler was Collins' director of sales and was responsible for the company's western region territories in the U.S. and Canada. He has held several other positions of increasing responsibility at Collins since joining the company in 2001.
