MANTECA, Calif. — A special-needs students was left on a bus at Manteca Unified School District’s transportation facility, and an official said the incident was a “good wake-up call,” FOX40 News reports.
Assistant Superintendent of Personnel Services Don Halseth told the news source that the student apparently fell asleep on the bus and was not visible to the driver when the bus returned to the district. Halseth said the girl had been on the bus for about an hour when a maintenance worker discovered her.
The girl was uninjured, but Halseth said the bus driver was “very concerned” by the incident. He also said that it was a good wake-up call for all drivers in the district.
