ALBANY, N.Y. — The National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) has added American Logistics Co. LLC (ALC), to its NAPT Recommended Products Program.

ALC is a national transportation management company that serves school districts. The company uses its proprietary ParaMax software to assess a school district’s current transportation program and define maximum efficiency algorithms that “right size” each route and identify the optimum mix of dedicated buses and non-dedicated alternative transportation solutions required to cost-effectively serve each trip.

With ParaMax, ALC says it can lower the costs associated with transporting special-needs students an average of 20 percent by reducing the required number of buses and their associated costs.

The NAPT board recommends a product or service to its members when it believes that the product or service is essential to personal growth and development, staff development, human resources management or operational safety and efficiency; it is sold only by a business affiliate member of NAPT; it is offered to NAPT members at the lowest available retail price; and it is available at that price to NAPT members only.

To become an NAPT-recommended product, ALC has agreed to offer any new customer that is an NAPT member a 2-percent discount on its services.
