WILMINGTON, Del. — A school district here is investigating two separate incidents in which preschool students were left unattended on school buses, The News Journal reports.

In both cases, the boys were left on a bus after they were supposed to be dropped off at an education center within the Christina School District. The first incident occurred in late January, with the boy left alone for about 90 minutes. The second incident took place last week, with the boy left unattended for over four hours.

Superintendent Freeman Williams told the newspaper that the district is reviewing why the district’s child-check procedures were not followed. New procedures have also been implemented to prevent another occurrence. The procedures include taking a roster of bus passengers that can be passed on to teachers for them to compare it against students who are in class.
