WESLACO, Texas — A 4-year-old girl was dragged by a school bus Thursday after her backpack reportedly became caught on the door as she was exiting, Action 4 News reports.

The bus had just left Ybarra Elementary School, and the incident occurred about a mile and a half from campus. The girl was frightened by the accident, but only suffered scrapes on her legs, investigators said.

The driver has been placed on suspension without pay, pending the investigation.
