NEW YORK — A school bus driver who was beaten into a coma by another motorist was taken off life support Friday, according to a story on MSNBC.com.

On June 11, Juan DelValle was knocked to the pavement by the driver of a double-parked car that he damaged with his bus. When he got out of the bus to survey the damage — the bus clipped the car’s mirror — the driver began punching him so hard his head slammed on the road.

DelValle had been driving a school bus for 10 years and was preparing to retire at the end of this school year.
