MIAMI — Officials discovered Tuesday that batteries were stolen from 32 buses at Miami-Dade County Public Schools' bus depot.
When school bus drivers arrived to work on Tuesday morning, they found their buses would not start, according to a story on Local10.com. It was discovered that the buses had been broken into, and their batteries were stolen.
The theft affected 800 elementary, middle and high school students during the morning commute, and possibly 400 students during the afternoon commute. The district put other buses into service to complete the bus routes.
As of Tuesday evening, 15 of the buses had been repaired and 17 were still not working, according to the story.
No arrests have been made.
