MARION COUNTY, S.C. — A man has been arrested in connection to the theft of 26 school bus batteries.

According to Sheriff Mark Richardson, spokesman for the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Ronnie Roberts, 29, has been charged with 12 counts of breaking into a motor vehicle and 12 counts of petit larceny, WMBF News reports.

Roberts is believed to have broken into the buses at a high school last month. The batteries are valued at approximately $2,000.

Roberts is being held in the Marion County Jail.
