BLACKFOOT, Idaho — On Monday afternoon, a school bus driver struck a power pole while on a route. Police said she likely suffered a medical condition that caused her to lose control of her bus and hit the pole.

Joann Jensen, 64, was pronounced dead at a local hospital, where she had been taken by ambulance following the accident.

Thirty-four elementary school students were on board the bus at the time of the incident, but none was injured.

Donavan Harrington, owner of the bus company that Jensen worked for, told The Associated Press that she drove the same route for 13 years and was a dedicated employee.
