CLERMONT, Fla. — The Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a possible attempted abduction here last Thursday in the late afternoon.

Responding deputies learned that a 14-year old-girl was approached by an unknown white male who got out of a white full-size pickup truck at her bus stop. The man grabbed the victim and attempted to remove some of her clothing, but she was able to free herself. The victim’s clothing was torn during the struggle. The victim then ran home and reported the incident to her mother.

The suspect is described as having brown hair and a mustache. He is thought to be in his 40s. He was wearing a red long-sleeve shirt, jeans and Timberland shoes.

As of last Thursday, patrol units as well as the sheriff’s office aviation unit and K-9s conducted an area canvas. Detectives are working to generate a composite sketch of the suspect, which will be released as soon as possible.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the Lake County Sheriff's Office at (352) 343-2101 or CRIMELINE at (800) 423-TIPS.
