School redesigns parking lot, bus loading zone after accident

INTERNATIONAL FALLS, Minn. — Falls Elementary School has a new parking lot and bus loading zone this school year, The Journal reports.

The changes were made to separate school bus and vehicle pick-up and drop-off areas after an accident last year involving a student and a bus, officials say.

A committee was formed to look at parking lot safety and redesign the area to improve the flow of traffic.

Just an observation: Too bad it took a tragedy to remedy something that should have been done had the architects involved the Transportation Director in the original design stage!
