CAMDEN, N.J. — Two brothers were sentenced on Friday to more than 20 years each in prison for an incident in 2007 that led to gunshots hitting a school bus.
The Courier-Post reports that during the incident, the brothers chased a rival from a restaurant. Jonathan Torres — one of the brothers — shot at the man but missed him.
The brothers then carjacked a vehicle with three occupants and fired at the vehicle of a witness. Those shots hit a school bus but did not injure the children on board.
Jonathan Torres and his brother, Esterlin Torres, were convicted on multiple counts of aggravated assault and kidnapping. Jonathan Torres was sentenced to 29 years in state prison; Esterlin Torres received a 24-year term.
