TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Times reports that the Hillsborough County School Board voted last week to fire bus driver Theresa Robinson, who admitted to allowing her son to drive the school bus that was assigned to her.

An investigation conducted by Hillsborough County Public Schools found that Robinson's son took the bus to be washed and detailed. No children were on board at the time, according to the newspaper.

Robinson had recently spoken out about problems in the department and said at one point that she expected retaliation, according to the The Tampa Bay Times, but school officials said the move was not retaliatory; it was in response to Robinson violating union and district rules.
