HIGH POINT, N.C. — To celebrate the new school year and the role of the school bus in education, Thomas Built Buses is hosting the Back to School Photo Contest.

The contest invites parents to submit a photo of their child that best represents the back-to-school season. Five winners, one from each of Thomas Built’s geographic regions, will each receive a $2,000 donation for their child’s school's programs in science, technology and math.

“So many of us remember the excitement of getting back on the school bus and posing for the milestone photo each year,” said Kelley Platt, president and CEO of Thomas Built Buses. “School buses are such an integral part of our children’s lives. This photo contest is a great way to celebrate the excitement and nostalgia of riding the school bus back to school.”

To enter, parents ages 18 and older must “like” the Thomas Built Buses Facebook page and submit on the page a photo of their child enrolled in grade K to 12. All photos must depict a school bus, and photos that best represent the fun, excitement and nostalgia of riding the bus back to school will have the best chances of winning, company officials said.

The most popular photos, as determined by “likes,” will be selected as finalists, from which the five winners will be selected.

Entries will be accepted from Sept. 1 through Sept. 14. On Sept. 15, the voting period begins for all eligible photos. On Oct. 1, the top 50 photos from the popular vote will be reviewed by a panel of independent judges, who will choose the five final winners.
