Bob Rubin got his start in the industry when he was asked to become involved in manufacturing seat covers and safety vests for Easy Way Safety Services.

Bob Rubin, vice president of sales for Easy Way Safety Services, has retired after more than four decades of working in pupil transportation.

He got his start in the industry when he was asked to become involved in manufacturing seat covers and safety vests for the company. In his role as vice president of sales, he oversaw sales of all products, including seat covers, car seats, safety vests and SafeGuard Star.

Rubin is one of the longest active members of the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT). In 2010, he told SBF as part of our Fascinating Personalities profile that he had attended the association’s Summit every year since 1974, when NAPT was formed.

In a letter to the industry announcing his retirement, Rubin wrote fondly of his time in the business and of his colleagues.

“Forty-five years in the school bus industry has brought me in touch with the dearest people in the world. Courtesies abound everywhere, whether on the show floor or at a meal, a casual drink among friends or a helping hand during setup or teardown,” Rubin wrote.

He also wrote that he has relished the friendships he’s made, and he’ll miss those friendships.
