ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Rachel McCleery has accepted a permanent role as marketing and member assistant for the National School Transportation Association (NSTA).

McCleery, who has been with the central staff since early July, will be responsible for contributing to the association's marketing and communications plan, and increasing association membership.

Prior to her role at NSTA, McCleery served in the office of Michigan Congressman John D. Dingell and in the press office of New York Congresswoman Louise Slaughter. She was heavily involved in the marketing and development of Slaughter's congressional high-speed rail caucus web page and online profiles, as well as monitoring transportation legislation.

Moreover, since 2007, McCleery has served as a spokeswoman for the nonprofit organization Autism Speaks.

McCleery is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a minor in music.
