NEW WASHINGTON, Ohio — The C.E. White Co. has named John Purvis operations manager of its Fort Valley, Ga., warehouse.

With more than 30 years of plant and operations experience at major bus manufacturers such as Blue Bird Corp. and North American Bus Industries, Purvis will be responsible for managing the facility and its operations, and implementing quality programs. He began his training more than 30 years ago while in the Air Force as a nuclear weapons specialist.

Established in 1937, C.E. White provides seating solutions for the transportation industry. In 1994, the company introduced integrated child restraint seats to the school bus market. It introduced 3-point lap-shoulder belts a few years later.

C.E. White offers full line of seating options for the school and commercial bus markets that meet all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards requirements, including the Quasi-static test requirements that will become effective in October 2011.

The newly acquired Fort Valley facility will support C.E. White’s quality and growth initiatives in the southeastern region of the U.S., according to the company.
