WASHINGTON, D.C. — First Observer will promote terrorism awareness with a live Web seminar on Sept. 11.

The no-cost, 45-minute seminar, titled “Never Forget, Never Again,” will begin at 1 p.m. EST. Attendees will learn how to detect and report suspicious activities to a national call center that works with both federal and local law enforcement agencies throughout America. Those who attend will become certified “first observers.”

Transportation professionals, individuals with a CDL, emergency first responders and security personnel are encouraged to participate.

To register for the Web seminar, visit www.firstobserver911.com.

The national First Observer Outreach and Training Program recruits and trains volunteers who work in surface transportation to act as first observers in recognizing and reporting suspicious activities. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and administered by the Transportation Security Administration.
