FORT VALLEY, Ga. — Blue Bird Corp. has made reductions in its workforce, affecting about 20 salaried employees.

The manufacturer cited current economic conditions, which have slowed the sales of school and activity buses and the overall market growth in the industry.

All of the employees involved in the reduction were eligible for severance and continuation of benefits, the company said in a statement.

There were no hourly manufacturing employees, nor employees at the new Blue Bird South location, affected by the reduction.

The company said that it has no plans for further reductions unless the current market conditions worsen.
