ANAHEIM, Calif. — On Friday, Dec. 5, school bus drivers and mechanics from around the state are invited to gather with family and friends at the Anaheim Convention Center for a celebration in their honor.
Pamela McDonald, transportation director at Orange (Calif.) Unified School District, organized the second annual School Bus Drivers and School Bus Mechanics Appreciation Night in tandem with staff of the Anaheim Arsenal, an NBA development league team.
During the evening, attendees will watch a basketball game featuring the Arsenal and the Bakersfield Jam. Drivers and mechanics will be recognized during the game, and two employees from each school district will be recognized on court.
The first 400 school district employees who order tickets will receive one free. Tickets for friends and family members can be purchased at a discounted price of $9; individuals who work for contractors can also purchase tickets at a discounted price.
Moreover, the first 1,500 people in attendance will receive an Arsenal basketball, and commemorative school district wristbands will also be distributed.
The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
