Woman charged in assault on bus driver
February 6, 2012
A 40-year-old woman allegedly threatens another woman, a Kuna (Idaho) School District bus driver, with a loaded gun and sprays her with pepper spray in the district parking lot. Two transportation employees reportedly step in to take the gun and separate the two women, who are said to be friends.
New state director appointed in N.Y.

Mary Faherty Sansaricq succeeds Marion Edick, who recently retired from her post as director of pupil transportation services. Officials say Sansaricq has more than 20 years’ experience as an educator and administrator, during which time she served in the New York State Education Department’s Pupil Transportation Unit and Office of Educational Management Services, among other work.

The school and shuttle bus manufacturer reached the milestone earlier this month when Creative Bus Sales in Chino, Calif., took delivery of the bus for Nevada RTC. President of Starcraft Bus and Federal Coach David Wright presents an award to Tony Matijevich, owner and president of Creative Bus Sales, to commemorate the event.
Navistar names new marketing exec

Kathy Seegebrecht will serve the company as vice president, marketing, for the global bus division. Seegebrecht, who previously served as vice president, marketing, for Navistar’s parts group, replaces David Hillman.
Stolen buses in Mo. haven't been found

At least eight school buses have disappeared from five locations in St. Louis County and Jefferson County in the past year. Police have notified the FBI.

Pupil transportation at Ukiah (Calif.) Unified School District will continue this school year without any changes even though the district’s funding for the service has been reduced by $467,000 due to statewide cuts. The district’s reserves are able to absorb the one-time reduction.
National Bus Sales certified as a women’s business enterprise

Trans Tech expands dealership network

Five more dealers across the U.S. are now selling the school bus manufacturer’s products, including the new eTrans all-electric bus. The dealerships are Davey Coach Sales, MVI Group, Uebelhor and Sons Chevrolet, Cumberland International and RWC International.
Ohio district to reduce bus service to state minimum

Tiffin City Schools' board of education votes to reduce bus service so that next school year, only students in grades K-8 who live more than two miles away from school will ride a district bus. The plan is expected to save the district $120,000.
Funding cuts prompt Calif. district to eliminate transportation department

Southern Humboldt Unified School District’s board of trustees votes to lay off 11 bus drivers and three other transportation employees in the wake of a more than $710,000 reduction in funding for transportation services, which is due to statewide budget cuts. The district’s superintendent discusses with SBF the next steps that will be taken to provide service for students.
