A-Z Bus Sales awarded LAUSD contract
Los Angeles district will replace its 20-plus-year-old diesel buses with CNG Blue Bird buses purchased through A-Z Bus Sales. The dealer delivered more than 235 propane buses to LAUSD and four of its contracted service providers in the past year.
COLTON, Calif. — A-Z Bus Sales Inc. has secured an award from the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to replace old diesel buses with new compressed natural gas (CNG) Blue Bird buses.
Delivery of the new buses to LAUSD is anticipated in October and November of this year.
"LAUSD Transportation Department, with its long-term commitment to clean fuel-powered school buses, worked closely with the South Coast Air Quality Management District, school bus vendors and its school board to replace 20-plus-year-old diesel buses with clean burning CNG-powered school buses that will reduce air pollution, particulate matter and provide cleaner air for its students and the residents of Los Angeles," A-Z President Jim Reynolds said.
A-Z and Blue Bird have a long history with LAUSD. For more than 15 years, they have provided LAUSD with transit CNG buses as well as conventional propane-fueled buses.
A-Z delivered more than 235 propane buses to LAUSD and four of its contracted service providers in the past year.
