FORT VALLEY, Ga. — Blue Bird Corp.’s manufacturing facility here hosted the Georgia Propane Alternative Fuels Statewide Road Show last week.
The tour featured discussion of the alternative fuel tax credits available, as well as a ride-and-drive.
Attendees also had an opportunity to speak to vehicle representatives about the products on display, which included Blue Bird’s propane-powered Vision school bus.
“Our commitment to alternative fuels is not new,” said Ron Smith, director of marketing. “We introduced the CNG-powered Blue Bird Vision bus in 1991 and then the propane-powered Vision bus in 2006. Blue Bird is proud to be a part of this tour, which highlights the wealth of benefits provided by alternative fuels.”
Additional propane-powered products on view included a Ford F-150 pickup truck, a Dixie Chopper propane lawnmower and a General Motors Corp. 8.1-liter engine medium-duty platform.
The road show, which also made stops in Rome, Ga., and Tifton, Ga., is hosted by the Propane Education and Research Council, Georgia Clean Cities Coalition and the Middle Georgia Clean Air Coalition.
