CINCINNATI — The Erie County Preschool and Early Intervention Program selected First Student as its transportation provider beginning in September. As a result, First Student is expanding its operations in Buffalo, N.Y., and is hiring 100 bus drivers and 100 monitors.

“We look forward to serving more communities in the Western New York area,” said Dawn Tighe, First Student recruitment and training center manager. “We are pleased so many school districts recognize the value we provide, and have chosen to partner with First Student for safe and reliable transportation.”

First Student currently employs more than 1,500 school bus drivers, monitors, mechanics and staff in the Western New York area. The company is hiring a total of 200 bus drivers and monitors to help serve students in the Erie County Preschool and Early Intervention Program. The contractor will provide all necessary training.
