Tim Flood named president of NSTA
In the role, Flood says that he plans to focus on addressing the growing safety and security challenges facing the industry and on increasing awareness of outsourcing school transportation as a safe and cost-effective solution.

TULSA, Okla. — Timothy E. Flood was elected president of the National School Transportation Association (NSTA) on Tuesday at the group’s meeting here.
Flood is executive vice president of The Trans Group LLC, headquartered in Spring Valley, N.Y. He has been with the company for more than 25 years, beginning his school bus career as a part-time driver. Officials said that throughout his career, Flood has focused on customer service and continuous improvement in all aspects of the operation.
Flood is a long-standing member of NSTA and has consistently held an active role within the association. He has served on many committees and has chaired the association and industry development committee as well as the safety and security committee, each for several years. He has served on the NSTA board of directors for more than a decade now.
Flood has received multiple awards for his service, including NSTA’s Golden Merit and Distinguished Service honors and SCHOOL BUS FLEET’s Contractor of the Year award.
Flood began his presidency with the close of NSTA’s Annual Meeting and Convention. In the role, he said he plans to focus on addressing the growing safety and security challenges facing the industry and on increasing awareness of outsourcing school transportation as a safe and cost-effective solution.
“I am honored to lead such an amazing group of industry professionals and to represent the entire NSTA membership,” Flood said. “Our focus remains on providing safe and efficient transportation to students throughout North America.”
Flood also serves on the New York School Bus Contractors Association’s board of directors and is a past president of that association. He is a past board member of the Pupil Transportation Safety Institute and has served on the New York State School Bus Driver Instructor Advisory Committee. Flood has also represented the state of New York as a delegate at the National Congress on School Transportation.
