NEW ORLEANS — FirstLine Schools awarded Kansas City, Mo.-based Apple Bus Co. a three-year contract to provide student transportation service, beginning with the 2013-14 school year.

The transportation company, which has operations in five states, will operate approximately 90 school buses for this new contract. This will be Apple Bus Co.’s first contract in Louisiana.

“Louisiana is a market we have been interested in for quite some time, and we are excited to begin transporting students in the coming school year,” said Reid Oyster, vice president of Apple Bus Co. “FirstLine Schools aligns with Apple’s philosophies and organization, and we look forward to working with them.”

Apple Bus Co. came in at No. 19 in this year’s Top 50 Contractor Fleets. The full ranking will appear in SBF’s forthcoming July issue.
