CINCINNATI First Student has added 99 new school buses to its fleet to transport Cincinnati Public Schools students.

The Thomas Built Saf-T-Liner buses are designed with a focus on added safety and comfort, as well as cleaner emissions, officials said. The enlarged front window offers drivers greater visibility. Deeper seats and larger windows provide students with a more enjoyable ride.

In addition, the new buses boast a footprint of near-zero nitrogen oxide emission.

“First Student’s core value of safety is evident through the regular investments we make in our fleet,” said Scott Turney, First Student area general manager. “The new buses meet our high standards of safety, while being environmentally and technologically advanced.”

First Student added additional safety features to the buses, which include GPS tracking systems, the Child Check-Mate electronic reminder system designed to ensure no child is left unattended on a bus, and crossing gates to direct children to cross in front of the bus at a safe distance.

The new buses began transporting Cincinnati Public Schools students this month.
