ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Next Thursday, Rachel McCleery will end her tenure with the National School Transportation Association (NSTA) to pursue her love of politics.

McCleery, who joined NSTA in July 2011 as communications and operations manager, will join the staff of Congressman John Dingell (D-MI) to do press and correspondence work.

Officials said that McCleery has been a valuable asset to NSTA, having advanced its social media exposure and updated its operating systems to help the association become more efficient.

McCleery is a graduate of Michigan State University, and she holds a bachelor’s degree in political science.

“On behalf of the organization, we want to thank her for her hard work and dedication to NSTA and wish her the best of luck on the Hill!” the association said in a statement.
