Former NSTA staff member embarks on new career
Danielle Abe, who served as director of marketing and operations for the school bus contractors group, left the NSTA last Friday. She will be executive director of the American League of Lobbyists effective Jan 1, 2012, where she will be responsible for the league's 2012 membership drive, program development and financial management.
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Danielle Abe, who served as director of marketing and operations for the National School Transportation Association (NSTA) for about five years, is embarking on a new career with the American League of Lobbyists (ALL).
Abe’s last day with NSTA was July 22. In her position with the association, she oversaw all of its marketing and communications efforts, including membership development and conferences. She was also involved in website development and event planning.
“It's been a great experience and I have a tremendous fondness for the yellow school bus industry,” Abe said of her time with NSTA.
Effective Jan. 1, 2012, Abe will serve as the executive director of ALL. To ensure a seamless transition, Abe is currently working closely with ALL Interim Executive Director Gina Bancroft, who has held the position since January.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Danielle Abe to the American League of Lobbyists,” said Howard Marlowe, president of ALL. “Ms. Abe is an extremely skilled and well respected association manager who will continue to build on the excellent foundation established by Gina Bancroft. Ms. Abe brings valuable experience and a fresh vision that will help ALL continue to enhance the development of professionalism, competence and high ethical standards for advocates in the public policy arena.”
As executive director, Abe will be responsible for the league's 2012 membership drive, program development and financial management. Abe’s appointment is the culmination of a six-month search process necessitated by the passing of Patti Jo Baber, the league’s longtime executive director.
ALL, with more than 1,000 dues-paying members, has represented the lobbying profession for over 30 years.
