CINCINNATI — First Student Charter Bus Rental, the school bus contractor's charter service division, provided shuttle service in late May for the 2011 Amgen Tour of California, the largest cycling event in North America.
First Student was chosen to provide transportation to VIPs, media and staff during Stage 7 of the tour event, the highest attended stage of the race. The company provided 18 small buses for eight hours to shuttle more than 600 passengers to and from Mt. Baldy in the Angeles National Forest to view the race.
The company has also supplied charter service for such events as the Daytona 500, the 2010 Rock 'n' Roll Mardi Gras Marathon in New Orleans and the 2010 U.S. Senior and Women's Open golf events.
First Student Charter Bus Rental utilizes First Student's drivers and has access to a fleet of approximately 60,000 buses, officials said.
