ESCO has introduced a new pneumatic truck tire bead breaker.

The Model 20425 reportedly eliminates the need to lift and turn a truck tire/wheel assembly over to break the second bead. Now, a tire technician can roll the tire/wheel assembly into the bead breaker to break both beads at the same time in seconds, company officials said.

The Model 20425 is powered by standard shop or tire service truck air at 100 psi to develop a bead breaking force of over 5,000 pounds. The unit can handle truck tire/wheel sizes at 19.5 inches through 24.5 inches, including  super singles and X-One type wide base tires/wheels.

Due to its small footprint, the Model 20425 can also be installed on the power lift gates of tire service trucks.

The bead breaker helps tire dealers to comply with the OSHA regulations that forbid the striking of the tire wheel assembly with steel duck bill tire hammers, according to the company.
