MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — Espar Heater Systems has introduced the Multi-Max 1000 controller for its E-Guardian Series of bus heaters.

The Multi-Max 1000 features a manual, one-button on/off control for the driver so that he or she can activate the heater when waiting for students. A programmable “set and forget” timer enables the heater start/stop sequence to be set in accordance with the fleet schedule.

The controller’s programmed maximum run-time setting ensures it will not run continuously when the heater is started manually. It also includes a programmable heater disable, so if ambient temperature exceeds a set point, the heater won't automatically start on an unusually warm day.

In addition, the controller has a programmable SD card, which allows PC setup of all programmable features using a simple template. This also allows for programming of multiple vehicles with one setup operation, and it puts into memory an event log that indicates date/time stamped operating and fault code events.
